Aren't you so jelous...

...that I got to see Jessica! She drove all the way to Layton just to take her ADORABLE baby to Toys R Us for his birthday so I got to meet up with her, go shopping, and go out to lunch. SO FUN! We also got to see her brother, Sean, who was also in town that day. What a great day and may I just say that she has the most adorable, well behaved, happy little boy in the world?! What a great mamma she is!

Jacob "playing" his X-Box... Samma got him!

Singing "Happy Birthday"...

Jacob's birthday was yesterday and my sister was in town so we had ourselves a little shin-dig! Here's Jacob "Biting the Cake". For the cake, I made a replica of his favoite thing ever...the X-Box 360 & controller. Thanks, honey, for everything you do for us. You ROCK!...(even if you are an old geezer!)

My First REAL Wedding!!!

..Sort of. This was actually a "dummy cake". That means the bottom two tiers were styrafoam, instead of cake but fondanted and decorated as usual. The top tier is actually cake so that the bride and groom could have the ceremonial "cutting of the cake". I'm glad it was a dummy because I was stressed out as it was without having to worry about the cake melting in the 95 degree weather.

Here's some pics of me feelin' all pro in my spiffy apron (thanks again, Aunt Lorrie!)

I'm so glad it's over!

Hanging out with friends...

I love my neighborhood and all of my wonderful friends in it! We are always getting together to do fun stuff. We probably get together, on average, 3-4 times a week. I'm such a lucky girl to have such a great group of serogate sisters and brothers. Yesterday, we went to my friend's house to let the kids play on the blow-up water slide and pool. They had a BLAST and so did us mommies. Tonight is ladies night. It's usually volleyball and softball night but some people are out of town. We are going to the new movie theatre (about 3 blocks down!) to watch "Maid of Honor". Pictures to follow, I'm sure!

Oh, and the boys got new haircuts...as you can see. Ryan is sporting a faux-hawk and Trevor has a full-on Mow-Hawk. I did Trevor's hair that way to warn everyone of what a little stinker he is underneath all that cuteness!

Happy Father's Day..

To the BEST dad in the world!! My kids just ADORE their Daddy and he is so in love with them. He shows compasion as well as respect. He disiplines in a loving and calm manner and always takes the time to teach them work ethic and just how to be an all around good person. I couldn't have asked for a better father for my children. He's amazing.

This father's day (as well as mother's day) we will be enjoying our Mother/Father's day present in September when we go on our cruise. This year, Jacob was pampered and waited on hand and foot throughout the entire day... I realize now how spoiled I am! It was a nice warm day so we headed outside to use the snow-cone maker that Jacob got as a present from LAST Father's day! We had not used it ONCE that whole year. We felt it appropriate to use it this year. lol. For those of you who know Jacob, you will know that he LOVES snowcones. He waits all year for those snow-cone stands to pop up all around town. Here are some pics. He invited ALL the neighborhood kids to come out and enjoy. We used Lizzy's make-shift ice-cream/sandwich/lemonade stand.

Every time I tell Jacob what a good Daddy he is, he always responds with something like: "Well MY dad used to....." followed by an endearing story of his childhood that taught him how to be a great dad. Thanks Dad Tomseth!

Getting set up...

Trevor awaiting the snow-cone goodness
Ryan "cooling off" Daddy (don't worry, Daddy got him back!)

Daddy, servin' it up!

All the niegborhood kids joined in the fun

I'd also like to say what a great father my dad was. He worked so hard to support all of us and gave us what we needed. I was always happy as a child and I always knew that he loved me. Thanks for all those mornings, before you left for work before it was light outside when I would run outside to catch you and ask you for 50 cents to buy an icecream at schoool that day. You would always reach into that pocketfull of change that you always had and obliged with a smile. I love you Daddy!

My First Wedding!

This past week, I got to do a cupcake tower for my cousin's open-house reception down in Spanish Fork. It was very casual and the colors were royal blue and sage green. I wasn't given any direction so this was the result.
My sister, Ashley, was visiting me and thank-goodness she was there to help me! We cut out and assembled 200 flowers!! We also had to do 200 leaves too. People don't realize what a process it is dealing with fondant. You have to color it just the right color, roll it out over and over, and you have to make sure the flowers or fondant doesn't dry out before you have time to even finish cutting all the flowers out. It took both of us about 2 days to do it all. I don't think I could have done it without her. I had a blast, however hanging out with her. The piping detail on the top cake was really fun to do too.
Please don't mind the crude cupcake stand. I am in the process of building a new one. I think what bugged me so much about mine is that the spacers between the boards were too high. This is what I want my new one to look like:

Mom's 60th B-day Bash

We threw a 60th birthday bash for my Mom and evidently, I was in charge of the cake. I wasn't too happy with it. I liked the two pices seperatly by not together. I was also wondering what it would have looked like if the stripes were silver instead of gold. My sister has all the pictures from the party but you can view them on whitmanclan.blogspot.com if you feel so inclined. I'll post some on this site as soon as I get them from her.
