Happy Holidays!

We had a great Christmas this year. It was a generally stress-free holiday. We got about 4 inches of snow on Christmas eve! Talk about a white Christmas! It was awesome! I think the best part was that the kids were finally old enough to really understand the true meaning of why we have Christmas. It was so fun to set up our nativity scene with them and have them ask questions. Lizzy even make Jesus a birthday cake with her new felt cake-decorating set. Hope everyone had a good Christmas too!

To all of our family and friends...

Once again I have procrastinated and so my Christmas cards are a flop...again. I had some printed out but they were way grainy and just didn't look right. So...I am posting this to our family and friends to say a very Merry Christmas. Hope all is well with everyone and that the season finds you so happy. We love you all very much. Sorry it is so impersonal but this is the best I could do this year. Merry Christmas!

Namma & Grandpa!

So Jacob's parents came up for the weekend last weekend and we had a blast. They are from So Cal so the snow was a big treat for them. We had so much fun having snowball fights, sleading, drinking hot chocolate, opening presents, visiting Temple Square to see the amazing lights, going out for dinner and making candy trains! Thanks Mom & Dad Tomseth for a fantastic weekend! We love you!

I've been waiting for this day...

I suppose every mother waits for the day that her little girl will want to be just like mommy and get into her make-up. I actually doubted this day would come only for the fact that my Lizzy is an angel and never really does anything really naughty. Well...it happened and it couldn't have been more funny! I was calling her name because I hadn't seen her in a while and she didn't answer like she usually does. I started to look around for her and couldn't find her. I finally went into my room to check the bathroom and I saw the light on in the bathroom and scurrying going on under the door. I opened the door to find my sweet little Lizzy franticaly wiping her face with a huge wad of wet toilet paper desperatley trying to remove the make-up before I found her. She looked up at me (very dissapointed in herself) and said "Mom, can you help me get it off?" To hide my rolls of laughter I covered my mouth as to look horrified instead of completley amused. I told her that she needed to go on a little time-out first and then I would help her wash her face. (Only because my bathroom was a lipstick-covered disaster!) So...Lizzy had to do the walk of shame to the time-out spot. I felt bad because she was so embarrassed. Her Namma and Grandpa were there and she couln't be more humiliated. Of course Grandma was shooting off pictures and Grandpa was trying not to laugh. We then washed her face and she proclaimed to me: "Mom, I never want to wear make-up again!" I told her she was beautiful just the way she was and that when she got older, I would teach her how to wear make-up. Oh the joys of being a mother....:)

Horray for Me!!

Okay, I had to give myself props this morning for FINALLY getting my butt back on my treadmill. I haven't been on it in WEEKS due to being busy, the holidays and, well, I was just being lazy, really. It felt fantastic! Vollyball is tonight so I get double points. (Every Thursday, my friends and I break into the church and have a hillarious game of Vollyball) I had gained a couple "I-miss-Jacob" pounds from when he was on his buisness trip for a couple weeks. I have a love hate relationship with Bryers Black Rasberry-Chocolate ice cream by the way... SO good and SO bad at the same time. Actually, I've already lost about 2 lbs in just 4 days! I guess thats what happens when you stop sitting on your butt at night watching cooking shows and eating mounds of ice cream. Funny how that works huh... I swear that's the trick to ANY weight loss: STOP EATING THREE HOURS BEFORE BEDTIME. I'm back to my old self, eating healthy again and it feels great! All that sugar was wiggin' out my system.

Trevor loves Lemons!!

Every time we go to a restraunt, Trevor always wants the lemon. So...I gave it to him. We were dying laughing because he would make these horrible faces, throw it down, then pick it up and start eating it again! Anyway...here are some of Trevor's "Lemon faces"

SNOW!!!

What a fun day we had sledding! We love it when it just dumps snow and then the sun comes out! We found a really cool hill nearby and had a blast! Afterwards, we went home, had hot chocolate and took naps!

A little vent...Probably not for children...

I HAVE THE WORST NEIGHBORS IN THE WORLD!!! You would think that when you move into a nice neighborhood, you would have decent nieghbors...NO! My neighbors across the street (the one's with the pitbulls and the drinking and the loud parties) have horrible children that drive everyone nuts because they don't dicipline them.

Today, I came home from church to find a lovely message scribbled in the snow on my front lawn that read: B*&%$# in HUGE letters. I have been NOTHING but kind to these neighbors and this is what I get! I don't understand. I am the ONLY person on my street that will even talk to these people, wave hello and give them vegetables from my garden and this is how I am treated... I called the boys over (because they were standing right there on the corner...idiots...) I walked my neighbor boy home to tell his mother, and her response (from her blank face) was "Oh, okay..." She told her boy to get inside and shut the door! That was it!! No aplogy or anything! I am so livid right now! Anyway...thanks for letting me vent...

All my other neighbors are wonderful, by the way, and we have a great time together. But I guess it only takes one to make your life miserable!

Trevor is Walking!!

Trevor is walking now!!! A couple weeks ago, he started taking tentative steps every once in a while only if he was coached or bribed. Now, he just thinks that he is pretty big stuff every time he stands up and walks by himself. Can you believe it??!!

New Cake...

Go to my cake website link and check out the new Witch's Hat cake under the "Special Occations" tab.

Trick-or-Treat!

Introducing: the CUTEST little Pirate, "Cake Baker like Mommy", and Skunk that you'll EVER see! Oh, and I totally rocked a totally radical LA Gear jacket complete with LA Gear shoes and stonewashed jean skirt. Of course I had some super 80's earings and the double socks as well. I was an 80's cliche. Jacob was a "Really bad super-hero". (Which means he dug through the costume box 15 min. before we had to leave). We hit a halloween party then took the kidos trick-or-treating. I've never seen Ryan run that fast! He's usually my doddler but not last night! As long as people are giving out candy, he's there! Lizzy did a good job of making sure that Ryan didn't go to any of the "houses without lights on." and also made sure that he always said "Thank-You." They had a blast and got WAY too much candy. Little tip: go when the trick-or-treaters are winding down because people REALLY want to get rid of their candy so they dump it all out in the buckets at the end. Hope you all had safe and fun Halloween!

A little thing I like to call a "ROADTRIP"

So Jacob very graciously let me kid nap Betheny and hit the road for Vegas Baby. By the way Jacob......Thank You, Thank You, Thank You :) We had a BLAST. I know they say what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, but come on, 2 Mormon gals in Vegas. It all stayed well below an R rating, more around the PG range. We loved all the beautiful hotels and all the beautiful Shoes*o* We went to a real Vegas Wedding at the Rio, yes we were actually invited. We did take notes from the Wedding crasher before we went *o* But far and away the best part of the trip was eating dinner at the Venetian and going on a romantic gondola ride together. Some day Beth it will be in a real canal in Venice one with brown stinky water, I promise;)

Fall is here!!!

Fall is here and I 'm SO excited!! Lizzy has been waiting all year to jump in the leaves. We also had a great time at the pumpkin patch. Those kids had a blast carving all the pumkins. Lizzy carved her own for the first time this year! She even helped Trevor by drawing his little pumpkin a face. Ryan wanted a "spooky pumkin" and was very happy with the scar I gave it. He was also facinated with the "pumkin brains" that we scooped out.

My baby sister...

My little sister Ashley (the youngest girl) graduated this past Tuesday. I am so stinkin' proud of her. She's done so well for herself. She's been accepted to Utah Valley State University and will be attending in the fall which means she will be moving 20 min closer to us! Jacob and I presented her with a genuine set of pearls - because every lady needs a string of pearls! We wish her the best of luck.
