..Sort of. This was actually a "dummy cake". That means the bottom two tiers were styrafoam, instead of cake but fondanted and decorated as usual. The top tier is actually cake so that the bride and groom could have the ceremonial "cutting of the cake". I'm glad it was a dummy because I was stressed out as it was without having to worry about the cake melting in the 95 degree weather.
Here's some pics of me feelin' all pro in my spiffy apron (thanks again, Aunt Lorrie!)
I'm so glad it's over!

Way to go! I love the design of it, did you design it or did the bride? BTW, my brother's wife Sarah made the teeth cake, I don't know the details on how she made it and she is not a cake maker by your standards, but she is very handy in the kitchen!
Betheny!!!!So good to hear from you! I'm so glad you found us. This is why I love blogging- when you get to hear from old friends. :)
So you guys are in Utah huh? We will definately have to meet up next time we're up there. I can't believe you're making cakes- and gorgeous ones. Wow! How exciting. How did you get into that? I'm glad to hear Jacob is liking what he is doing- nothing better than that. Your kids are absolutely adorable- and I can't believe you have 3!!! I remember when Lizzy was just born; let alone your wedding day. My how time flies. I will tell Bonnie you said "hello". Next time you're in Cali let's have a party. I don't know much about people's happendings, but you know who does is Kristen Fuller. She stays in touch with everyone. Well, I'm so glad to hear you are all doing well. You guys look great and I'm sooo glad you said "hi". Keep in touch missy! :)
Bethany...I always get those thomseths brothers mixed up! I think that is sooo cool you have your own cake decorating business. I love decorating cakes and I think it would be so awesome to make money doing it. I'm not good enough though. It takes me sooo long. We would love to come to dinner sometime. We live in Murray. Hopefully we'll have a reunion sometime soon. I used to nanny for Bonnie's sister Nina when we lived in Corona. I still keep in touch with them. I just love their family. Small world. Talk to you later! Your cakes are beautiful!!
Gorgeous! And the cake isn't bad either! ;) Ok, really...I think you are so incredibly talented. I wish I could have hired you for my wedding. Your talent is unreal. I have loved every cake you've ever posted. Wow!
Wow! You are so talented. Those cakes look so beautiful and good. Our reception was on Blake's birthday... so we just had a birthday cake for our cake. Too bad we didn't know about you or we would have had you make our cake! :)
I wish you could have done my wedding cake. That is so beautiful.
